Abstract
The article outlines the key aspects of the mechanism of practical application of inflation targeting as a monetary policy regime. Key macroeconomic prerequisites for the introduction of inflation targeting regime as well as its main advantages and disadvantages for the transition economies are defined and examined in the article.
