The Relationship between Knowledge Management and Financial Performance of Iranian Privatized Companies after Application of Article 44 of the Constitution Compared with Governmental Companies

Abstract

In this study, it has been tried to provide a suitable model for financial performance of the companies which subcontracted to the private sector and the role of knowledge management in their performances. In this research, the parameters of knowledge management for 10 companies subjecting to Article 44 of the Constitution, before and after the privatization are obtained using a questionnaire and descriptive method. Then, the parameters of financial performances including four ratios of liquidity, profitability, activity and leverage for these companies were analyzed for 3 years before and after privatization. The results showed that the privatization of companies subjecting to Article 44 of the constitution had significant effects on their usage of knowledge management, so that the majority of knowledge management parameters for privatized companies subjecting to Article 44 of the Constitution have been improved. On the other hand, the results obtained from analysis of the company's financial documents showed that most of the parameters which are utilized to evaluate the financial performance have improved for these companies after privatization. It can be concluded that the usage of knowledge management in private-sector companies has been significantly improved their financial ratios.
