THE ROLE OF AFRICAN COURT ON HUMAN AND PEOPLE’S RIGHTS IN HUMAN RIGHTS PROTECTION IN AFRICA

Abstract
The article is devoted to the study of the role of the African Court on Human and Peoples’ Rights in the international regional mechanism for the protection of human rights on the African continent. The history of the creation of the Court, its structure, the order of formation, and scope of jurisdiction, as well as the prospects for the reform are investigated. The decisions on individual cases and their impact on the promotion of human rights in African countries are analyzed.
