THE ROLE OF ANTONYMOUS TRANSLATION IN LITERARY TRANSLATION

Journal Title: Молодий вчений - Year 2017, Vol 2, Issue 42

Abstract

The article deals with antonymous translation as one of lexico-grammatical transformations in translation. The authors study examples of language antonymous translation such as negative-positive inversion and positive-negative inversion. Conversive translation is treated as the highest degree of semantic development. Special attention is given to the ways of translating structures like “I wish I could” used in literary texts into Ukrainian. Research material has been taken from J. K. Rowling’s novel ‘Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone’ and its translation into Ukrainian done by V. Morozov.
