THE ROLE OF E-BUSINESS IN SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT

Abstract

The paper highlights the fact that the rapid progress in the development of information technology, globalization of operations and increasingly demanding customers to chart a new way of doing business. In has been emphasized that the Internet enables, and also forces the reorganisations of structures and ways of functioning of companies. In his the notes that e-business is associated with significant improvements in management efficiency and the majority of supply chains leads to a price reduction, higher productivity and lower personnel costs of companies. However, the condition for achieving a competitive advantage in e-business is the management processes in the supply chain in real time. The article presents systems that can keep the plan, schedule and monitor the implementation of the assumptions that are consistent with the strategy and long-term corporate goals. The author shows that the use of modern information technology, especially the Internet, through all the supply chain creates an entirely new – in terms of quality – possibility of formation of this chain. The author stresses that the development of e-business and the Internet resulted in the integration of supply chain layer technology is increasingly being just over the Internet. Thanks to the eSCM, which is an electronic supply chain management, it is possible to create dynamically reconfigurable supply chains, i.e. instantaneous supply chains, which arise even for individual transactions of individual customers. In summary, the author shows the benefits achieved by the use of company Internet process management in the supply chain.
