THE ROLE OF SOCIO-CULTURAL COMPETENCE IN FOREIGN LANGUAGE TEACHERS PROFESSIONAL TRAINING

Abstract

The theoretical questions of socio-cultural competence of future foreign languages teachers forming are investigated. The role of socio-cultural competence in future foreign language teachers professional training is shown. Educational, developmental and educational aspects of socio-cultural competence of philological students are determined and its basic components are presented, such as linguistic, social and cultural, cultural and lingvo-cultural competence, sociolinguistic and geographic competence. The essence of socio-cultural competence is explained. Modern values of the English language in intercultural relations, particularly for philological students, are justified.
