The scientifi c and practical work of scientists of the Kharkiv medical society in the late XIX – the early XX century

Abstract
The article analyzes the scienti¿ c and practical activities of members of the Kharkiv Medical Society in the late nineteenth – the early twentieth century. Based on the analysis of legal documents, archival materials, and medical journals scienti¿ c achievements of scientists in the ¿ eld of medical knowledge was reviewed. In the article the most important theoretical and practical aspects of epidemiology, bacteriology, surgery, therapy, morphology are shown to scientists who laid the Kharkiv Medical Society. For the implementation of scienti¿ c achievements of scientists the establishment of various commissions to combat infectious diseases were repeatedly initiated. Members of the Medical Society of Kharkiv acquainted with global advances in epidemiology, bacteriology, treatment, surgery and used them in their practice at home.
