THE SPECIFICITY OF FORMATION OF GENDER IDENTITY OF PRESCHOOLERS

Abstract

The features of the process of formation of gender identity of preschool children are described in the article, particularly, a psychological and pedagogical analysis of the problem is provided. The main problems of socialization of children of both sexes are stated. The development of a gender perspective in the study of phenomena and processes of social life implies the need to recognize that differences in the behavior of men and women are determined not so much by their physiological characteristics as mechanisms for long-term socialization, education and understanding of the nature of men and women, consisting in every culture. Promoting gender equality in education should be understood as an extension of the living space for the development of individual abilities and inclinations of each individual. The levels of formation of gender identity of senior preschool children are selected. The similarities and differences between the gender behavior of boys and girls of preschool age are analysed. The issues of creation of the real pre-conditions for the full development of girls and boys according to their age and gender features that contribute to the self-realization of feminine / masculine individuality and provide the basis for further adult life of the growing personality are actualized. The theoretical approaches to the definition of gender identity are presented in the article. The basic stages of becoming of gender identity are analysed in ontogenesis. The issue of creating real conditions for the full development of girls and boys in accordance with their age-sex gender and individual characteristics that promote self-feminine / masculine identity and constitute the basis for future adult life of a growing personality are clarufied. The main factors of influence on the process of forming of gender identity of a personality are identified. The differences of the process of the formation of gender identity of boys and girls are defined.
