THE STUDY OF SCALE FORMATION ON HOT ROLLED INGOTS AND BILLETS
Journal Title: Journal of Science And Arts - Year 2010, Vol 12, Issue 1
Abstract
During the heating for rolling, ingots and billets are affected by the chemical action of the heating atmosphere. Between the heating environment elements and steel components there are taking place chemical reactions initiated at the separation surface that may affect a layer in metal of about a few microns to a few millimeters. The thickness of the affected layer is a function of the environment nature, heated material composition, chemical reaction’s type and kinetics, heating rate and temperature. The aim of this paper is to correlate the oxidation and the decarburization processes during the heating of ingots and billets for rolling. The study was made on ingots and billets rolled at the breakdown mill of the Special Steel Complex, Physics Laboratories from MECHEL Targoviste, Romania. The scope of the study is the analysis of the scale obtained from the rolling mill train in order to obtain specific information that will be used in adjusting the rolling parameters for diminishing the oxidation and decarburization and for recycling the scale in electric furnaces.

STUDY OF THE FINITE FINAL POINT OPTIMAL CONTROL PROBLEM
The paper presents a simple method for obtaining the analytical formula and the graphical representation of the trajectory and optimal control for a class of control problems, with fixed or free final state form.
MODELS IN MAGNETISM
This is only a short review on the basic features and of connection between the models. Two types of basic models, those considering that the magnetic moments are localized at lattice sites and band models, respectively,...
GENERAL EXISTENCE FOR MINIMUM PROBLEMS IN BANACH SPACES
In this note we give some extensions of a recent result concerning the minimum problems in Banach spaces. These extensions are based on the fact that the topological degree of a coercive map is one and this still remains...
COMPLEX SPECTRAL CHARACTERIZATION OF ACTIVE PRINCIPLES FROM MARIGOLD (CALENDULA OFFICINALIS)
The marigold is a very useful species of medicinal plants with many uses in phyto-therapy and cosmetics. The carotenoid pigments in the marigold’s inflorescence represent a fundamental constituent of drugs. The pigment c...
SOME INEQUALITIES IN THE CONVEX QUADRILATERAL
In this paper we present some inequalities about the convex quadrilateral using the Jensen Inequality, the Tóth-Lenhard Inequality.
