The Ukrainian-Luxembourg relations in the 1990s years

Abstract
The paper reveals cooperation between Ukraine and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg in diplomatic, economic, scientific and cultural spheres in the 90s of the twentieth century. The formation of the Ukrainian-Luxembourg relations in the first years of Ukraine’s independence was studied to highlight the main interests of Ukraine in the 90s. The issues of the Crimean status, nuclear disarmament and problem of the Chernobyl station and other factors which burden on the development of relations between the two countries were determined. Author analyses circumstance of cooperation between two countries and reasons of favourable attitude of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg during that period. Particular attention is paid to the Ukrainian- Luxembourg relations in the context of Ukraine’s prospects in integration processes on the European continent. Detailed information is given about specifics of economic cooperation during that period. The effect of Belgium–Luxembourg Economic Union on trading between Ukraine and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg is underlined. The author explains problems of cooperation in sphere of science and education. Special attention is given to the spheres of science in which both sides showed the main interest. The major cultural events that took place in the 90s and had the most impact on relations between two countries are listed.
