THE UNITY OF THEORY AND PRACTICE IN THE CONTEXT OF “RECONSTRUCTION IN PHILOSOPHY” BY JOHN DEWEY: PEDAGOGICAL ASPECTS

Abstract

The article establishes that the “reconstruction in philosophy”, undertaken by J. Dewey, has been called upon becoming a practical method of consolidating as well as disseminating the social experience including the sphere of education. Chicago Laboratory School established in 1896 by J. Dewey has become the instrument of generating and practical testing of his philosophical end pedagogical ideas. It has been proven that the practices of Chicago Laboratory School incorporated the correlation between the historical development of society (phylogenesis) and the individual child development (ontogenesis).
