The usage of case study method in teaching foreign languages

Abstract
This article analyzes the problem of using the case study method in teaching foreign languages, in particular, the English language. Also, the conditions for successful application of the case method during the teaching of foreign languages are considered. The case method promotes the development of communication skills among cadets / students, broadens the outlook, develops common skills, develops independent, search activities, shapes aesthetic views, and raises the level of competence. The case method can be used not only as a method of learning, but also for assessing the level of knowledge. It is advisable to use case studies at advanced stages of learning when cadets / students already have a sufficient level of linguistic, cognitive and research skills.
