THE USAGE OF GAMES IN TEACHING A FOREIGN LANGUAGE TO ADULTS (FROM TRADITIONAL TO MULTIMEDIA GAMES)

Abstract
The article defines the role and characterisctics of a game at lessons of a foreign language (French) which is taught to adults; it reveals the contents of definitions of “game” and “play”. The paper studies the changes in the methodology of teaching a foreign language to adults which take place at the transition of from a traditional game to games used by educational sites. The autors analyze characteristic features of educational video games for adults which are free in the Internet and give recommendations about choosing a game which would keep a certain balance between playfullness and seriousness in teaching adults a foreign language.
