ESSAY AS THE ACTUAL VIEW OF LEARNING AND COGNITIVEACTIVITIES OF UKRAINIAN LANGUAGE LEARNERS

Abstract
The article describes the methods and techniques of creating an academic essay. Different concepts and approaches to the interpretation of the essay as an actual type of educational and cognitive activity of students at Ukrainian lessons in general secondary education institutions are analyzed. The emphasis is placed on the analysis of the linguistic-stylistic features of this genre of student creativity. The common and distinctive features of classical and contemporary essays are determined. A sample of cognitive-activity task, aimed at developing creative skills and writing skills of the essay is given.
