The routine must be broken by incorporating a variety of teaching activities and methods: role play, debates, brainstorming, discussion, demonstrations, audiovisual presentations, guest speakers, or small group work. Among them – case studies which have great influence on individuality of a student stressing developmental factors in relation to environment. Cases can be gleaned from newspapers, magazine articles, journal reports, own experience, and the experiences of professionals and practitioners in the field. Case studies give students a chance to apply what they are learning. A good case poses a challenging problem. In language classes students can play the role of people in everyday situations. They are required to analyse the prescribed cases and present their own interpretations or solutions. The method of case is innovative in the foreign languages teaching process. Its qualitative value is in the fact that it teaches students in a foreign language and forms skills of individual thinking in specific speech situations.
