THE VALUE AND VALUATION AS A LINGUISTIC AND PRAGMATIC MEANING

Abstract
The aim of this paper is to analyze semantic and pragmatic aspects of the value and valuation which are expressed in linguistic meanings. The value assesment and evaluation are determined by the Language system and author’s position. Communicative activity reflects an assessment of the author of the text as stable or situational. The situational evaluation is determined by the value system of the author. We give the classification of the typical cases expression of evaluating and types of assessment of the author’s position in the communicative activity. Our analysis of the semantic and pragmatic components of the meanings has uncovered certain value-laden connotations which are stable in Russian Language and perceived by Russian-language speakers as axiomatic.
