THE WEAR PROCESS OF IMPACT MILL WORKING ELEMENTS AND WAYS OF MINIMIZING THE CONSEQUENCES OF THIS PROCESS

Journal Title: Tribologia - Year 2015, Vol 261, Issue 3

Abstract

The paper presents an analysis of the factors affecting the intensity of the wear process of impact disk-pin mill, mainly its working parts – pins. Structural factors have been identified which were the following: the area of the pins’ surface and the state of the surface layer. On this basis, the following design changes were made: Threads were cut into side surface of the pins increasing their active surfaces by approx. 80%. The pins were also thermo-chemical treated – nitriding. The application of proposed changes has nearly doubled the durability of the pins.
