THEATRICAL ART AS A MEANS OF FORMATION OF PUBLIC RELATIONS: THE GENESIS OF THE PROBLEM

Abstract

The article summarizes the information about the formation of the theater as a necessary component of the artistic culture of society at every stage of its historical development, the close connection between theatrical art and social processes, the dependence of the nature of this relationship on the level of economic development and the level of formation of political, ethical and cultural needs of society, the versatility of the theater as a tool for identifying and solving social problems. The importance of the theater’s role in forming relations between members of social groups, development of spiritual potential and intellectual and creative possibilities of everyone in engagement with universal values is revealed. The interrelation of theatrical art with the social processes is emphasized, which is implemented through actors' embodiment of life's situations and various manifestations of human relationships and through involvement of the viewer with the creative communication through his or her interaction with the actor in the process of perceiving performances which are the work of theatrical art. It is proved that in different periods of history, the theater, while reflecting the existing social problems, affects the formation of public opinion, promotes the spread of new ideas and relevant social information that from ancient Greece to our times performs its inherent functions and, despite the modern level of development of mass communication (television, cinema, the Internet, etc.) is an indispensable and necessary tool for establishing communication in modern society, which makes it possible to use theatrical art as a means of forming social relations.
