THEMATIZATION, FIGURATIVELY

Journal Title: The Journal of International Social Research - Year 2015, Vol 8, Issue 37

Abstract

Figuratively and thematisation are contrary to each other. These two concepts are like the two ends of the line. Figure can be defined as everything which can be felt by the sense organs. Figuratively is related to signifier and perceptible reality. In theme contents are not related to referent. Figuratively can be felt by the senses and related to outer world. However thematization is related to interior world. Theme can be defined as conceptual appearance. Opposite to figuratively, theme is created as per thoughts, it can be perceived by mind and contents are not related to referent. Theme can not be perceived by sense organs. The interrelation of thematization and figuratively is based on symbols, semi-symbolic parable and motif. In symbol, there is a relation between theme and figure in terms. A theme is correspondent to a figure. In semi-symbolic relation there is a correspondence between theme and figure by categories. A theme can be stated by several figures as per parable relation. The other relation between theme and figure is motif. As per motif, a figure can be stated by several themes. On the other hand, figure states tangible and theme states intangible. There is a gradual relation between theme and figure as well.
