Theoretical and numerical method in aeroacoustics
Journal Title: INCAS BULLETIN - Year 2010, Vol 2, Issue 2
Abstract
The paper deals with the mathematical and numerical modeling of the aerodynamic noise generated by the fluid flow interaction with the solid structure of a rotor blade. Our analysis use Lighthill’s acoustic analogy. Lighthill idea was to express the fundamental equations of motion into a wave equation for acoustic fluctuation with a source term on the right-hand side. The obtained wave equation is solved numerically by the spatial discretization. The method is applied in the case of monopole source placed in different points of blade surfaces to find this effect of noise propagation.

Acoustic characteristics of the flow over different shapes of nozzle chevrons
The objective of this paper is to present a comparison between different types of chevrons and their influence on the acoustic power level radiated by the flow over them. The comparison was performed using a two-dimensio...
Helicopter Roll-Axis Instabilities induced by Pilot Cyclic Control: A Physical Explanation
The main objective of this paper is to give a basic understanding of the mechanisms through which pilot cyclic inputs in lateral cyclic interacts with high-order rotor dynamics destabilizing the helicopter roll motion. T...
