Therapeutic methods used in children treated for hemangiomas

Abstract

Hemangiomas are benign tumors that occur in early childhood. For centuries it was believed that they are the result of maternal experiences during pregnancy. The impetus for the creation can be lived emotions, feelings, thoughts and visual impressions. It was seen as a form of stigmatization, assigning blame the mother for creating them. Today, they are commonly referred to as “stain salmon”, “wine stain birthmark”, “cherries”, “strawberry”. Because of hemangiomas in Poland are hospitalized more and more children. In the social dimension so this is a very serious problem. The aim of the study is to discuss the methods of treatment in children with hemangioma and their impact on the functioning of the child and his family. The analysis can be concluded that the presence of the child’s individual choice hemangioma requires therapeutic intervention and follow-up and monitoring during the entire period of the disease.
