Training needs in the West Pomerania companies implementing changes in their organizations

Abstract

The article presents results of a study carried out in 2012 in the West Pom-erania companies that implemented changes in their organizations. People em-ployed in the companies or owners of the companies were covered by surveys and in-depth interviews. The study was conducted as part of the projects "Kompas" and "Pomost", and one of its objectives was to determine whether the companies took advantage of any training in connection with the changes being implemented. The replies did not confirm the researchers’ belief that the companies implementing changes and innovation should be characterized by a high demand for consultancy or training services. The article points out and discusses the main barriers to the use of training, including lack of awareness of the staff as to the training offer or the needs of their companies. The results were compared to available national data.
