As a synthesis of learning theories, transfomative learning theory attracts attention of educational researchers. Transformative learning is a 10 steps process in which an individual questions his own assumptions, experiences, feelings and beliefs in order to gain a better perception of life. In this process, the instructor’s role is facilitating the individual’s perspective transformation. Critical reflection and communication skills are the essential elements of the theory. Transformative learning theory is an adult learning theory and it is expected that adults should take their own learning responsibilities.
