TRENDS IN DEVELOPMENT OF MILITARY VEHICLES ARMOUR – NEW KINDS OF THREATS

Abstract

The article signals the need to introduce the changes in the ballistic protection require-ments of military vehicles. This results from the analysis of experience collected during various missions, in particular in Iraq and Afghanistan, and some indefinite future tasks.The article presents the information on the projects carried out in the Military Institute of Armoured and Automotive Technology related to vehicle crew protection in the case of threats from shaped charge grenades, EFP projectiles and IED fragmenting charges.
