Trends of assessment of college activity orientation to service users and the expression of the attitude

Abstract
The article deals with one of the trends of college activity improvement – orientation of the activity to the service users and the labour market. Demands for higher schools change with rapid changes of the economic situation in the world. It is very important for the higher school itself to realize who its service user is and what his/her requirements are. The quality of the services provided by the institution depends on how the employees of the institution understand it. High requirements of the relation with the labour market are raised for colleges which have been working for a decade in Lithuani a, as the purpose of colleges itself is the execution of studies oriented towards the demands of the labour market. The demands for colleges orient them towards the qualitative development, in order to implement the mission which corresponds to their purpose and to be competitive. The research of the improvement of activity carried out at Šiauliai College, which includes all the main spheres of activity, is presented in the report, and the assessment of orientation of college activity to the service users and the labour market is analysed. The assessment was performed by college teachers and administrative staff, as this College personnel takes part not only in the process of specialist trai ning, but also analyses the demand for their training, liaises with the students, the graduates of the college and their potential employers. The results of the performed and analysed research help every employee perceive his/her responsibility and its significance for the quality of College activities, the development of the College and the increase of competitiveness deeper, complement the conclusions of the assessment of college activities and enable us to analyse the state of improvement of college activiti es and the quality thoroughly.
