ABSTRACT Background: The aim of this study is to determine Turkey based articles published in three international journals on medical education area and the changing situation after establishing medical education departments in medical schools. Methods: First, all articles including “Turkey” and Turkish names in Medical Teacher, Academic Medicine and Medical Education journals were analyzed by using three search engines PubMed, Google Scholar and ISI Web of Knowledge. Then the articles were classified by titles and abstracts according to their relation to medical education concept. The selected articles were grouped according to their publication years and theme. The results were presented in a table as frequencies and percentages. Results: There were 193,710 articles including “medical education” keyword in first search beginning at 1966.
