Types of material incentives for civil servants in the Ukrainian lands (the end of XVIII – the fi rst half of the ХІХ century)

Abstract
The article examines the types of material incentives for employees of civilian state institutions, which functioned in the Ukrainian lands in the late XVIII – the early XIX centuries. In particular, attention is paid to such types of incentives, as wages (salaries), other cash bene¿ ts, gifts, donation of land, etc. The author concludes that during the ¿ rst half of the nineteenth century rewards and incentives, which the government applies to civil of¿ cials were ¿ nally systematized and regulated by law. Material incentives held the leading position.
