УКРАЇНСЬКИЙ КАНТ ЯК ЖАНР «ТРЕТЬОГО ПЛАСТА»: ЄВРОПЕЙСЬКИЙ ІСТОРИЧНИЙ КОНТЕКСТ

Abstract
The article analyzes the Ukrainian kant in the pan-European historical context of the development of the third layer’s musical genres. The features of the development of secular song music making in Western Europe from the late Middle Ages to the Enlightenment are outlined. The comparison of some genre and musical-stylistic features of separate song components of the Western European «third layer» and the Ukrainian kant has been compared. The directions of the third layer’s separate genres’ development in Western Europe and kant in Ukraine in the 16th and 18th centuries (ascending and descending respectively) are investigated and determined.
