Artykuł ma charakter teoretyczny. Dokonano w nim analizy pojęcia empowermentu na tle trzech wybranych koncepcji, które w różnym stopniu odwołują się do wiedzy z zakresu zarządzania i psychologii. Wybór koncepcji podyktowany był zaprezentowaniem różnych podejść, odzwierciedlających aktualny stan wiedzy.
