Urgent issues of the use of blockchain technology for the enforcement of the related rights of broadcasting organizations

Abstract
In this Article the author reveals the impact of blockchain technology on the protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights, including in particular the related rights of broadcasting organizations. She analyzes the new blockchain use cases in the sphere of distribution of television and other content emerging recently. The author considers in particular such potential use cases as providing of evidence of making of the broadcasting organizations’ program available to the public for the first time (release to the public), tracking and controlling of the further exploitation of the program, digital rights management, conclusion and fulfillment of intellectual property agreements and other cases. She explores the recent trends and developments in the legal regulation of blockchain technology in the European Union Digital Single Market. The author attempts to foresee the application of the prospective legislation of the European Union in relation to video-sharing platform service.
