Usage of special finite elements for solution of fracture mechanics problems
Journal Title: Вісник Тернопільського національного технічного університету - Year 2016, Vol 82, Issue 2
Abstract
The paper suggests the usage of special modified finite elements, which account for the square-root singularity of stress and strain fields at the crack top and allows high-precision evaluation of stress intensity factors. These elements are introduced into the programs of finite element method for the analysis of plate problems of termoelasticity of anisotropic solids containing cracks. The comparison is done between the known analytic solutions and the results obtained using special finite elements and modified finite elements. High accuracy of the results obtained with the usage of modified special finite elements has been proved.

Fracture pecularities of prestressed steel reinforcement under hydrogenation in the model working medium
Pecularities of fracture behaviour of progressively drawn pearlitic steels from the initial hot rolled bar (not cold drawn at all) to the final commercial product (prestressing steel wire) were investigated in air and un...
Calculation of the plate plane stress in polar coordinate system on the basis of Lamé equation general solution
The mathematical model describing plane stress-strain state of plane elastic bodies in polar coordinate system is offered. To describe its three-dimensional stress state, three harmonic functions expressing the general s...
Experimental and probabilistic numerical modeling of impact of fiber-reinforced composites at high and low velocities
Peculiarities of energy absorption dynamics and the damage of plates of multicomponent composite material are analysed depending on the impact speed at impact velocities ranging from 20 to 1500 m/s in view of causing the...
Numerical modeling of complex two-level masstransfer in media of microporous particles taking advantage of the Crank-Nicolson method
Numerical solution for mathematical model of two-component diffusion in catalytic porous particles media has been proposed. The work is based on the results of previously proposed bi-porous model and considers diffusion...
Technological conditions of diffusive boride coating formation on silicon carbide and molybdenum disilicide
Basic directions of the diffusive boride coating formation on reaction-sintered silicon carbide and molybdenum disilicide are described. Technological conditions of non-metal ceramic materials boriding depending on the c...
