USING G. TAGUCHI’S RESEARCH PLANNING METHOD FOR ANALYSIS AND OPTIMISATION OF CAST IRON EN-GJLP-250 SURFACE BURNISHING
Journal Title: Tribologia - Year 2013, Vol 248, Issue 2
Abstract
In the article, the results of research on the base machine oil SN 150 and the exploitation additives R-2000 (preparation on the base of soft metals) and Motor LIFE (preparation using chemical actions) influence on the surface geometrical structure of parts from cast iron EN-GJLP-250 when turning and burnishing. The influence of machine oil and exploitation additives on the Ra roughness parameter after machining is defined. On the bases of research using G. Taguchi’s method and the analysed results, the absence of the influence of exploitation additives on the surface geometrical structure after burnishing is explained. The optimal conditions of turning followed by burnishing are defined including the following: minimal feeds of turning and burnishing, minimal speed of turning, maximal speed and force of burnishing, and the maximal nose radius of the cutter in the presence of base machine oil.
