Journal Title: Мова і міжкультурна комунікація - Year 2017, Vol 1, Issue
Abstract
The article highlights the aims and essence of autonomous students’ work, the main problems of using multimedia aids while organizing students’ independent controlled work. It analyzes the role and place of independent students’ work, its advantages and disadvantages. The article also describes the prospects of further development of distant education in the Republic of Belarus, the necessity of developing and putting into practice modern innovative technologies. The research showed that the analysis of psychological and pedagogical features of freshmen revealed, on the one hand, positive traits of their personality: readiness for various forms of work and an intensive mastery of new knowledge, ability to learn on their own, and on the other hand, disadvantages such as: inability to allocate their time for self-training, to monitor and evaluate themselves, to use their individual characteristics for cognitive activity. The analysis of revealed features makes it necessary to pay more attention to those forms of the organization of foreign language teaching, which allow developing the personal and professional qualities of students: openness, willingness to communicate, independence, self-regulation and self-education. These forms of organization for learning process include classes in multimedia rooms and students’ independent work. Classes in multimedia room allow the students to activate independent work and allow all the students to be included in active speech activity, increase their motivation and make classes more productive, bright and interesting. There was found out that in today’s transition to student-centered paradigm of learning a foreign language it is fundamentally important to change the whole system of interaction of a teacher and a student as subjects of educational activity. The new educational paradigm of paramount importance gets the most updated training activities and awareness of students themselves as the subject of educational process, closely interacting with their environment. The entire system of educational activities is focused on student’s person, choice of individual means and methods of teaching, freedom in decision-making. In conclusion, it should be noted that for the effective organization of independent work of students it is necessary to develop a whole range of new electronic forms and means of educational activities and optimally combine them with the traditional components of educational process.
