USING PROJECT TECHNIQUES IN THE STUDY OF NATURAL SCIENCE AT PRIMARY SCHOOL

Abstract

In the article the use of project technologies in the study of natural science at primary school is grounded, since it (the use) characterizes student's ability to solve accessible socially and personally meaningful practical educational issues related to real objects of nature. The contents of the project activities used in teaching science at elementary school are revealed. The project activity at elementary school is very promising because every participant does not lose the status of an active person who experiences his / herr own strength, works alone or in a group, applies his / her knowledge in new training situations, learns to present the results of his / her work. Working on the project, students communicate, collaborate and help each other, develop thinking and communication skills. This activity contributes to the differentiation and individual approach in the study of new educational material in classes where students demonstrating different levels of educational achievement study. The degree of project technology, step-by-step planning of the contents and the process od an educational project are considered. The features of the designated project technology in the study of natural science at primary school are analyzed. We emphasize that the didactic unit in the method of projects is the problem taken from real life. Thus, the problem and the ways of its solution acquire outlines of the project activities. The emotionally valuable and creative aspects alongside with the scientific aspect of the contents are always present when dealing with the elaboration of a project. This is the emotionally valuable and creative content components which determine how significant the project is for the students and how much independently it is performed.
