Abstract

The article deals with the analysis of international documents, in which education is the subject of legal regulation. The international documents ("Recommendation on Education in the Spirit of International Understanding", "Council of Europe Charter on Education for Democratic Citizenship and Human Rights Education", "The Bucharest Declaration Concerning Ethical Values and Principles for Higher Education in the Europe Region", "Declaration on the Promotion among Youth of the Ideals of Peace") outlines the principles that should be laid in the state educational policy for youth: education of youth in the spirit of peace, justice, freedom, mutual respect and mutual understanding to promote the establishment of equality for all people and all nations; all means of educating young people should promote the dissemination among young people of the ideals of peace, humanism, freedom and international solidarity; youth should be educated in the spirit of respect for the dignity and equality of all people, without any distinction based on race, colour, ethnicity or belief, and in the spirit of respect for fundamental human rights. According to the international documents, the main goal of education of young people should be the development of all their abilities, the formation of persons who have high moral qualities, are profoundly attached to the noble ideals of peace, freedom, dignity and universal equality and are overwhelmed with a sense of respect and love for humanity.
