VAPOUR PERMEATION STUDY OF WATER AND ETHANOL THROUGH CROSSLINKED CHITOSAN AND ALGINATE MEMBRANES
Journal Title: Progress on Chemistry and Application of Chitin and its Derivatives - Year 2015, Vol 0, Issue
Abstract
A vapour permeation of water and ethanol through homogenous chitosan and alginate membranes was investigated. The influence of the polymer matrix and crosslinking agents, and measurement protocol on the transport properties were discussed. The conducted experiments showed the greater separation factor, better stability and resistant to solvents for chemically crosslinked membranes. On the other hand, stronger association of the matrix, than the physical, caused decrease of vapour fluxes.

HIGHLY SENSITIVE CHITOSAN-BASED OPTICAL FLUORESCENT SENSOR FOR GASEOUS METHYLAMINE DETECTION
An optical fluorescent sensor based on a chitosan thin film co-doped with Eu3+ and a bromothymol blue pH indicator has been developed. Near-UV to visible (350–400 nm) excitation of the europium (III) chelate complexes wi...
RHEOLOGICAL PROPERTIES OF CHITOSAN ACETATE BLENDS WITH VINYL POLYMERS
In the present paper the rheological properties of solutions of chitosan acetate (ChA), poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA), polyacrylamide (PAM) and of ChA/PVA or ChA/PAM mixtures were studied. The measurements were carried out u...
PREPARATION OF MICRO AND NANOSTRUCTURES OF CHITOSAN BY ULTRASONIC COALESCENCE OF W/O EMULSIONS
In the paper, the preeliminary study of chitosan micro and nanospheres precipitation due to two reverse emulsions (W/O) coalescence is described. The composition conditions, which must be filled to obtain stable reverse...
THE ADSORPTION OF SIMVASTATIN ON CHITOSANS IN AN IN VITRO PHARMACEUTICAL MODEL
In clinical practice for the treatment of obesity, several natural macromolecular compounds are used, whose operation is based on supporting weight loss. During the use of dietary supplements containing chitosan, disease...
EFFECT OF CHITOSAN ON THE RHEOLOGICAL PROPERTIES OF HYDROGELS BASED ON SODIUM CARBOXYMETHYLCELLULOSE
The aim of the study was to evaluate the effect of changing the concentrations of chitosan on the rheological properties of the obtained formulation. Hydrogels were prepared with 1% hydrocortisone containing 4% sodium ca...
