Verification of Checking of the Validity and Effectiveness of Damage
Journal Title: INCAS BULLETIN - Year 2017, Vol 9, Issue 2
Abstract
This paper presents a methodology for identifying some stress concentrators based on the modal analysis performed using MSC Patran and MSC Nastran programs. The influence of a beam crack on its own frequency is practically insignificant. In order to emphasize this concentrator and its position, a modal shape processing method is used, by way of a program developed in EXCEL.

Development of a Three-Dimensional Unstructured Euler Solver for High-Speed Flows
This paper addresses the solution of the compressible Euler equations on hexahedral meshes for supersonic and hypersonic flows. Spatial discretization is accomplished by a cell-centered finite-volume formulation which em...
The use of jet penetrators for movement in the lunar soil
The possibility of using penetrators for researching the subsurface layers of the moon is considered. Possible options for launching such penetrators are indicated, from the way the launch is carried out depends on the d...
The Effects of Fibre Volume Fraction on a Glass-Epoxy Composite Material
This paper focuses on the analysis of the longitudinal mechanical properties of Glass Fibre Reinforce Plastic (GFRP) plates with different fibre volume fraction, Vf, by considering both analytical and experimental method...
Design of a compact six-component force and moment sensor for aerodynamic testing
The measurement of steady and fluctuating forces acting on a body in a flow is one of the main tasks in wind-tunnel experiments. Usually, a multi-component strain gauge force and moment sensor (also known as balance) is...
MDO approach for a two-stage microlauncher
The paper focuses on the multidisciplinary optimisation and preliminary design of a two-stage microlauncher capable of inserting a small 50 kg payload into Low Earth Orbit. The microlauncher is obtained using a MDO appro...
