VIRTUALLY ORIENTED PRACTICUM IN PHYSICS FOR STUDENTS OF NON-PHYSICAL SPECIALTIES

Abstract

The article describes the organization of educational and cognitive activity of students in the process of preparation and implementation of a virtually oriented practicum on the course of general physics for students of non-physical specialties as a modern and perspective approach to study with use of information and communication technologies and computer technology, which belong to computer oriented means and raise the level of educational achievements of future specialists of the non-physical profile. It is shown that computer- based tools are quite effective for the educational process, because while such organization of students’ exploratory activity they act not like learning means themselves, but the means of educational activities and help the student to find a well-known educational information that allows to solve the formulated educational problem in the form of a task, a training project or an educational exercise. A student, as a subject of learning, does not receive a new element of knowledge, but only acquaints with information about a known way of solving an educational problem. Therefore, computer-based learning tools in the process of performing a physical practicum are quite effective means of organizing student activities in the educational process in the general physics course, and the pedagogical software working on such basic principles is pedagogically balanced and justified for the purpose of formation of students’ subject competences. In the development of professional competences, computer-based learning tools are less effective because they require the consideration of various factors that are important in the relevant professional field, which requires further investigation and research.
