Visualization analysis of research hotspots in military aviation medicine based on CiteSpace

Journal Title: Journal of Air Force Medical University - Year 2023, Vol 44, Issue 10

Abstract

Objective To analyze the hotspots and frontiers of military aviation medicine research at home and abroad. Methods CiteSpace software was used to visualize and analyze the domestic and foreign military aeromedical research papers collected in China National Knowledge Infrastructure and Web of Science databases from January 1, 2002 to October 31, 2022. The contents included country, institution, author and high-frequency keywords. Results A total of 588 Chinese papers and 874 English papers were included. Chinese literature had the largest number of published papers in 2002, and the fluctuation of the number of published papers rose slowly from 2003 to 2020, with the number of published papers increasing sharply to 53 in 2021. From 2002 to 2019, the number of published papers in English showed an upward trend, reaching a peak of 72 papers in 2019, and the number of published papers decreased year by year from 2020 to 2022. A total of 549 authors in China published Chinese papers on military aviation medicine. A total of 612 authors published English papers on military aviation medicine. Through the cluster analysis of Chinese literature, the top 10 paper topics were qualification identification, medical identification, physical examination, diagnosis, hypertension, disease spectrum, acceleration, vertigo, treatment and risk factors. Through the cluster analysis of the English literature, the top 10 paper topics were injury, performance, symptoms, risk factors, brain, fatigue, post-traumatic stress, neck pain, exposure, and aging. The burst terms in Chinese literature included acceleration, physical endurance, anti-load suits, aerospace medicine, nursing homes, etc. The burst terms in English literature included alertness, pilot, population, risk factor and neck pain. Conclusion China and foreign military aeromedical research hotspots are not exactly the same, China currently focuses on the update and refinement of aeromedical appraisal standards and physical examination of flight personnel, and foreign countries mainly focus on post-war trauma treatment and improvement of flight personnel functions.
