Abstract
The article deals with the results of empirical research into effects of social tension on the work of teaching staff in secondary schools. Teachers understand social tension as a process associated with instable socio-economic and political processes in the country, which have adversary effects on the mental state of individuals, staff and society as a whole. One of the consequences of social tension is personal tension, which can be manifested through a number of conditions that include anxiety, frustration, life dissatisfaction, etc. A significant number of secondary school teaching staff have been diagnosed with high personal tension (situational and personal anxiety, social frustration). Analysis of the life satisfaction index revealed teaching staff's dissatisfaction on all its components. The obtained data have shown that a significant number of teaching staff assess negatively their own lifestyle and satisfaction of their personal needs. The obtained findings can be helpful for secondary school managers and psychologists in their attempts to reduce teaching staff personal tension in conditions of social tension.
