Взаємозв’язок стилю управління і управлінської емпатії керівників загальноосвітніх навчальних закладів (Links between secondary school principals' leadership styles and managerial empathy)

Abstract
The article deals with the content of tolerance to interact with the educational process subjects as a set of profession-critical qualities of secondary school principals. The author suggests new definitions and discusses the content of the concepts of 'tolerant leadership' and 'managerial empathy'. Tolerant leadership is characterized by staff's positive self-organization and appreciation of such human qualities as honesty, respect, professionalism, dignity and creativity. Managerial empathy is characterized by managers' abilities to understand the subordinates' spiritual world, to adequately determine their own positions in specific interactions, to be genuinely and sincerely interested in other people, to feel for others, to understand the employees' attitudes. The author hypothesizes the presence of links between secondary school principals' leadership styles and their managerial empathy. The author analyzes the results of empirical research on the levels of tolerant leadership and managerial empathy of secondary school principals. It has been found that secondary school principals have mainly low and middle levels of tolerant leadership styles and managerial empathy. It should be noted that women school principals have been shown to have higher levels of tolerant leadership and managerial empathy than men. The article also discusses the links between women school managers' leadership styles and managerial empathy. Women school principals with high levels of tolerant leadership typically have average (optimum) levels of managerial empathy.
