Wieża Babel i labirynt – o symbolicznych unaocznieniach podróży w dziełach Jana Amos Komeńskiego w kontekście kultury barokowej / Tower of Babel and labyrinth – about symbolic visions of travel in works by Comenius in the context of baroque culture

Abstract
The article presents an analysis of the philosophical discourse of Jan Amos Komensky in the perspective of symbols of the labyrinth and the Tower of Babel on a wider background of litera-ture and old culture. It is stated that Comenius was looking for means of expression that would enable him to express the spiritual anxiety of the epoch. This fear was related to the numerous wars that shook Europe at the time. The uncertain fate of refugees threatened with persecution was reflected in Baroque texts (philosophy, literature, mystical texts). The scholar exploits the ambiguity and plasticity of these symbols to draw the readers' attention to the idea of communi-ty, peace, religious dialogue and the need for education throughout life.
