WORD-FORMING MEANS OF THE LANGUAGE CATEGORIZATION OF THE WORLD

Abstract
The article deals with some aspects of the word-forming categorization of the language picture of the world. It has been noted that word-building categories are complex grammatical units, since they appeal to non-language reality, linking to the lexical level; it has been found out that the formation of word-building categories occurs on a syntactic basis, in accordance with the existing word-building models and using existing language word-building means word-forming types of word-building categories of derivatives of nouns have been defined, word-forming suffixes have been systematized on a categorical basis. The suffixal word-building of the nouns in the modern Ukrainian language occurs within the word-forming categories, which clearly correlate with the corresponding conceptual categories and therefore illustrate the conceptual picture of the world to a sufficient degree: names of the object’s state, names of the person, names of the object’s action, names of the abstract concepts, names of the devices, instruments, place nouns, material nouns, collective nouns, nouns with the meaning of similarity, childhood, nouns with a value of diminution, magnification, etc. The lexical units formed within these word-building categories cover a wide range of names representing objective reality. This allows us to assert that the system of word-forming categories of the noun in the modern Ukrainian language in general complies with the system of the main conceptual categories and provides an adequate verbal presentation of the objective picture of the world.
