WORKAHOLISM AS AN EXAMPLE OF BIHEVIORAL DEPENDENCE: DEFINITIVE-TYPOLOGICAL AND DIAGNOSTIC ASPECTS (ON MATERIALS OF POLAND)

Abstract
The article examines the phenomenon of workaholism from the perspective of pedagogy of labor on the materials of Polish studies. Various definitions of workaholism and its characteristic traits are presented. Various typologies of this phenomenon are analyzed from the point of view of various criteria. Various types of workers (including workaholics) are given, depending on the characteristics of their attitude to work. The common features and differences between workaholics and labor enthusiasts are elucidated. Some researches concerning the spread and consequences of workaholism in selected countries of the world are described. A scale for the diagnosis of workaholism WART (Work Addiction Risk Test), authored by A.S. Robinson, is presented. The methods of establishing the risk or fact of workaholism due to the study of personality using the WART scale are indicated.
