Wpływ gimnastyki leczniczej na dolegliwości lędźwiowego odcinka kręgosłupa

Journal Title: Rehabilitacja w Praktyce - Year 2018, Vol 1, Issue 3

Abstract

Low back pain is connected with disorders localized in the lumbar, lumbosacral and sacroiliac spine. One of the main methods of low back pain therapy is preservative treatment which consists of the elements of pharmacotherapy, physiotherapy, psychotherapy and education. Remedial gymnastics is crucial for rehabilitation and has been confirmed in numerous studies as an efficient method of treatment of patients with low back pain. The aim of the paper is to evaluate the influence of remedial gymnastics on the decrease of pain and the improvement of lumbosacral spine mobility. The study has been conducted among 80 women (30-50 years old) with lumbosacral pain. After the clinical examination the patients were referred to the Rehabilitation Outpatient Clinic. Two homogeneous female groups were formed, each containing 40 subjects. Group A did not exercise while group B practiced remedial gymnastics for 6 months. In both groups, medical history was taken and physical examination was conducted including surveys and functional tests (Schober, Thomas, Laquerr). The results of our study demonstrate a significant influence of remedial gymnastics on the decrease of pain and the improvement of lumbar spine mobility. Moreover, the beneficial influence of remedial gymnastics on the quality of life of patients with low back pain has been proved.
