Abstract
The aim of the article is to identify safety risks of the inhabitants of Zabłocie in the context of a penitentiary established there in 2012. The main research problem was an attempt to answer whether the local population feel secure after the formation of a penitentiary in Zabłocie. In order to gain further insights into the problem, a statistical survey was conducted and it included the following questions: Which place is the least secure in Zabłocie? What are the locals afraid of? What is the basis for safety assessment? What is the local people’s attitude towards the penitentiary formation?
