Y.M. Hakkel: childhood and student’s years

Abstract
The article highlights biographical and some other data on the childhood and student’s years of Yakov Modestovych Hakkel (Yakov Gakkel) in the context of researching the family and academic environment under which individual psychological features, scientific and creativeness potential of an out-standing engineer, professor, scientist and researcher of the first part of the XXth century were forming and being developed. The author shows that in his childhood Yakov Modestovych Hakkel’s personality forming was much influenced by cultural, religious, educational, every-day-practice peculiarities of Hakkel’s family. Another very important factor of Yakov Modestovych Hakkel’s personality forming became St. Petersburg Electrical engineering institute with its innovative academic environment to form and develop the future engineers-electricians as well as the powerful scientific and creative potential of the mentioned institute teaching staff. The peculiarities of Yakov Modestovych Hakkel’s non-formal communication environment within the economic, social, political, scientific and cultural situation in Russian Empire at the end of the XIXth – the beginnings of the XXth centuries influenced not only Yakov Modestovych Hakkel’s personality formation but his dramatic fate as well.
