Youth occupation and professional expression opportunities in Panevezys

Abstract
Youth occupation problem is very important economical and social problem. Increasing occupation creates prerequisites for fast economy growth, so increasing inhabitants’ income assures the stability of the country and welfare of citizens. Therefore insufficient occupation of today’s youth causes social problems of tomorrow. The survey was performed in order to ascertain the abilities of young people living in Panevezys to adapt to changing environment. The objective of the surv ey was to analyze opportunities for youth occupation and professional expression in Panevezys. The article analyses forms of youth leisure time, attitude towards education, interesting activity, work, possibilities for making career, town advantages and future expectations and their dependence on income, financial status, health condition, family influence and etc. The survey showed whether young people think about future optimistically, want to work independently and be necessary for others and make career. The article provides the analysis of survey results and conclusions.
