YOUTH SLANG IDIOMATIC CONSTRUCTIONS IN UKRAINIAN POSTMODERN ART DISCOURSE

Abstract
The article is devoted to the problem of the functioning of youth slang, idiomatic constructions especially, in the literature postmodern discourse. The focus is on the semantic and functional features of idioms. The author proposed the distribution of slang phraseology groups depending on the structural integrity of components. These examples are from the works of modern writers (Ju. Andruchovich, Kapranovs Brothers, L. Dashvar, L. Deresh, S. Zhadan, I. Karpa, etc.). This topic is reflected in the works by P. Grabovyj, J. Dzendzelivskyj, S. Matios, L. A. Stavyc’ka, A. Taranenko and other linguists. The author found out that slang of idioms is characterized by exaggeration and metaphor, and it leads to comic (sometimes ironic) effect or negative assessment of the situation. Idiomatics of youth slang is constantly renewed, the formation of new items is very fast and highly productive.
