Zagrożenia zdrowotne w pracy bibliotekarzy – zarys problematyki

Abstract
Everyday our psychophysical well-being is exposed to a number of factors, such as micro and macroorganisms which have negative impact on our health. A lot of them can be found at work, which is the place where we spend most of our lifetime. The librarians, at their workplace, are exposed to many factors which can affect their health condition, in particular the respiratory system, the musculoskeletal system and the visual perception. Working in insuffi ciently lit areas, stress, carrying, transporting and arranging books, infl uence of biological or chemical factors, frequently contribute to librarians’ diseases. The article describes particular health risks at librarians’ workplace in light of the current legal acts, medical publications and research outcomes.
